Study Refit

The client, a networking engineer, often worked from home and ran powerful home network. The room was cramped, containing a single large desk in the middle of the room for two computer set ups. Further, a large server rack, bookcase and various bits and pieces created a room that was cluttered, felt dirty, and in desperate need of attention.

We painted the room in Taubmans Endurance Cotton Touch, and replaced the single large table with two L-shaped desks, maintaining the separation of work stations whilst streamlining the working plane.

The bookcase was removed, and all the pieces stored in boxes beneath the desk space. The server shelves were moved to the rear of the room, out of the way of movement. The heavy leather chairs were replaced with mesh-backed chairs, creating a lighter and airier visual.

The single ceiling light was replaced with a pendant made from lab equipment (sourced by the client).

Overall, the space feels much cleaner and brighter, and is a much more relaxing and easy work room.
